Daily Mirror: A franchise may be just the job after a layoff
In their recent article “A franchise can be just the job after a layoff”, Daily Mirror advise the readers, who in the last few months were forced to retire, to look into our Fantastic franchise opportunities.
“More than 200,000 workers, aged over 50 have been forced into early retirement since the pandemic began – and that number keeps growing as more and more firms lay staff off, states Daily Mirror in their article.
What they give as advice is that joining a franchise might be the best option for people over the age of 50, who are one of the hardest-hit age groups during economic turndowns.
“Franchising is a good way to set up as it’s ready-made and proven. I did a lot of research to find one I thought would work for me,” said to Daily Mail the 60-years-old Wilbert Reid, who is one of our Area Development franchisees in the UK.

In the article, our co-founder Rune Sovndahl explained: “For the slightly more risk-averse entrepreneur, a franchise is a great vehicle for launching and growing a long-term business, while being sheltered from some of the costs and uncertainty that come with going for it alone.”
He also added that “the number of start-ups in the UK that reach the five-year mark is around 40%, but if you look at franchisees after five years, close to 90% are still in business”.
